Call for Submissions
The International Committee of Architectural Critics CICA invites all its members to submit nominations for the inaugural 2026 CICA Architecture Awards by 1st September 2025.
All members are encouraged to nominate at least two projects. Members may nominate up to five projects.
Statement of Intent
The CICA Architecture Award: recognizes excellence in built projects that better global civilization by embodying meaning, ethics and the ideals of our time.
This new award serves as a platform for the largest global body of architectural critics to concertedly promote meaningful architectural discourse. All nominations will be published on the CICA website alongside a short critical text by the nominating member, making every nomination a public dissemination of critical theory and a chance to identify and promulgate the truly deserving projects of our time.
There will be three awards per continent: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania
Voting
CICA members will constitute the global jury, with voting open to every member. Each member may distribute 12 points in any way per continent.
There are three stages:
– long list by 1st September,
– Zoom meetings for short list in March 2026,
– final voting by 1st May 2026.
Submission Parameters
Any architectural project, building or landscape completed between January 2015 and September 2025 is eligible for nomination. The nominating member must have visited the project in person. Each submission for consideration by the CICA membership should be accompanied by six images and a short critical analysis of maximum 300 words to be published on the CICA website.
